Preparing children to be successful in school is a priority for USD 305. The district offers Head Start and Early Head Start, at-risk preschool, Parents as Teachers, and services for children with disabilities.
A summary of program options offered in Saline, Ellsworth, and Dickinson counties are listed below. An application should be submitted by a parent or guardian. You can submit multiple applications if you have more than one child or are interested in more than one service.

Program Description
A parent is a child's first and most important teacher. This program is designed to provide parents with information and to help build their child's intellectual, language, social, and physical development from birth to age five.
Each stage in a child's development is important and comes with opportunities for learning. We help guide parents through those stages and give them tools for success.

Classroom Locations: Heartland Early Education and all eight USD 305 elementary buildings
Program Description
High-quality preschool offered Monday through Thursday. Options include morning/afternoon sessions and school day. All children receive developmental screening, active learning experiences, and nutritious meals/snacks. Transportation available for those who qualify.
