
Early Head Start Child Care helps income-eligible families reduce the cost of child care while the parents are working or attending school.
Parents must be working or attending school at least 30 hours a week.
- Early Head Start Child Care provides full-day, full-year early learning opportunities and child care to families who have children ages newborn to three years old.
- Home visitors and teaching staff meet with parents during the year to discuss each child's progress and to set goals for further development.
- Home visitors help parents expand their knowledge about child development, health, nutrition, child care, budgeting, job skills, and transitioning to Preschool. Other services available to families include; social services, nutrition services, health services, mental health services and family literacy services.
- Currently, Early Head Start Child Care serves about 56 infants and toddlers in Salina.
